Tacos, tacos, tacos

Perdon a los que no leen Ingles, despues les escribire a todos...

My first week in Manzanillo, Colima is coming to a close. What a wonderful time I've had here with the friends.  I arrived to extreme heat and humidity, however it seems like rainy season has officially started and the frequent rain has brought a cool breeze and some relief to everyone. Just now a mini storm passed with thunder and lightening. It was gone quickly. But cooled everything down, allowing me to have some hot coffee with canela on this Saturday evening as I studied my WT. The congregation I've been visiting is in English and is small with many currently under the weather or out of the country, but everyone has been extremely loving and supportive.  The elders of the hall are all retired which allows them to focus all their care and attention to the congregation. You can feel how much of a family everyone is in the congregation.
The beaches here are straight out of a travel catalog, turquoise waters and different colored sands and so much green everywhere, it's so unbelievably beautiful!
The territory for the English cong. consists primarily of retirees and deported families/individuals or young people who were once in the states and moved down with family or for work.
Every Wednesday the girls travel an hour or so away to some smaller more mountainous towns (wish I could remember their names now) for bible studies and RVs and at noon a sister who lives there is always waiting with a delicious lunch prepared for them. This week was chicken vegetable soup with rice and beans and tortillas with agua de limon.  After lunch we began playing jump-rope with the sister's little girl and before we knew it the whole family was playing with us. Even the rain didn't interrupt the game and soon the brother was showing us some lasso tricks he learned as a boy. It was so much fun!  But of course we eventually had to return to service, which was such a great day. Can't wait to go again next week!

This is Olga and I at the Kingdom Hall, and a little baby on the loose behind us:)
Washing my hands at the sister's who fed us lunch on Wednesday I know it looks like I'm washing dishes, but sadly no. I think Olga wanted to make me look good.

My first Mexican bus ride.  I handed the bus driver 10 pesos, actually, I threw it at him and ran to the end of the bus...I guess I was a bit nervous. He gave Olga my change as she laughed and laughed at me the whole way
On our way to playa Tenacatita, passing some beautiful views. Went withOlga, Jenny (Olga's roommate) and Chelan(not pictured here).

A Black sand beach near Capital.  Somehow we always end up getting wet even though not intending to. The waves are deceiving here.  Below Olgita is soaked from head to toe due to my bad timing and estimation.

Oh yeah, and my diet has consisted of tacos alll week long!;) But occasionally some tamales, gorditas, quesadillas and frijoles as well.   FYI, the blog is "la mies es mucha.." due to the need in the preach work, not due to the amount of tortillas I've been eating....
